Why updating the database when opening a playlist? opening, database, Why, playlist, updating

Is there a way to turn the quot;updating databasequot; off when opening a saved music playlist? With long playlists this takes quite some minutes until the playlist is loaded and wonder what is being updated or loaded besides the list of tracks anyway? I can cancel the update but I see no difference to not canceling the quot;updatequot;.

Any advice?
